Get into the habit of never dumping things on the floor, always put things in their place. Just these two habits will ensure that you have a lot less work to do when you begin cleaning the house. Get the rest of the family in the habit too.
Toss things away in the refrigerator and pantry that have expired or that you have not used for a long time. Make a bin for donations of food that you can donate at the supermarket. Throw out old take-out containers and condiments that have just a little bit left in them.
Another use for those disposable makeup pads is that you can rinse them out and clean up the sink and counters with them after you are done cleaning your face. Use a wash cloth to wipe down the mirror after the family has brushed their teeth or shaved to keep the spots off.
While you are vacuuming the family room take the opportunity to dust the bookshelves by attaching the upholstery tool and getting rid of spiderwebs and dust. Wipe down your children's toys with alcohol to keep them sanitary. Artificial flowers can be vacuumed too. Running the pillows in the dryer will freshen them. Lamp shades can also be vacuumed as well as the television.
As easy as laundry is to do its the folding that gets you. To avoid a large project do a load every couple of days to keep up with the flow. Presort your clothing to save time.
Vacuum the mini blinds and headboard with the upholstery attachment for a time saving tip. Move books and reading materials off of your bed into the bookshelf or to a recycling bag. Pick up a few items each morning to toss from your nightstand and dresser, like empty bottles or receipts. Wipe the phone with an alcohol wipe.
